One thing that I want to make sure I do everyday is have some one on one time with Addie and no other distractions. She is doing really well with having Kellen around, but we have also had Nanna and Boppa here to help out. I just want to make sure we have our time together. One of her favorite things to do is help cook with mommy. Today we made her some cookies. I think she likes the dough and the process better than the actual finished cookies. One thing nice about her recipes is there is no eggs or other raw ingredient so licking the bowl is okay. I love this little girl.

The Big Sister
Addie is such a helper with Kellen! Since he has lost weight since he has been home the doctors have us waking him every 2 hours to eat. He is not an easy baby to wake, he likes his sleep. He is starting to gain as we need to go in for weekly weight checks since he is also a bit jaundice. Anyways here is a video of Addie trying to wake her "little buddy" as she calls him.

Off to the Hospital
So, little Kellen decided to come a bit early, 4 weeks actually. It all started over the weekend when I got extreamly itchy, not just my tummy itchy, but all over. I had rash at all just really itchy. Kirk must of thought I was crazy because instead of asking for back or foot massages now was asking him to just scratch my back and hard. On Sunday I thought I would call my nurse line just to check. The nurse said it didn't ring any bells, probably just dry skin. So, I just used more lotion and went on with weekend scratching away. On Monday when I was at school I was miserably, so I thought I would call my dr. and see what she thought. She got me in that day right after school even though I had an appointment for later that week. She said it was probably nothing, but there was a small chance that it could be cholotsis of pregnancy. It was a pretty small chance but wanted to check it out. She said if it was we would have to get you delievered. That scared me a bit, but was going with thought that it was nothing. She did my strep b just in case and had me come in the next morning after fasting for blood work. On Tuesday after school my dr called back saying that my liver count was abit elevated which could be causing the itching, but my bile duct test wasn't back yet and that was the important one. She said to just continue with your pregnancy as you normally would. I went to school the next day with that in mind. We had a field trip since it was our last week. I felt great and not as itchy as early in the week. Then I got the call afterschool. My dr tracked me down in my classroom and said my tests were back and they weren't good. She said we need to get you delievered. I just started to cry. It sound serious. We weren't ready at home and I had my last day of school with my kids and my pack up day. Needless to say I didn't make my last day. Thursday morning we were sent to the perinatal clinic attached to the hospital to have an amnio done, check the amniotic fluid, monitor heart rate and blood going through the cord to the baby. I was lucky Kellen's lungs were fully developed and at this point showed no sign of stress. With cholotisis though the baby can go into stress at any point, which was why they didn't want to wait on getting him out. They were going to set me up for induction. So on Friday into the hospital we went. They monitored him all day then started me on meds to get my cervix ready since I hadn't even started to dialate that night. They checked me at 6 am and took the meds out. They told me I had been having contractions all night and had dialated to a 2. They were impressed. They thought they would give me another drug to work on my cervix, but because I was contracting every 2 minutes I couldn't have it. They wanted to see what my body would do on its own. So I started walked laps around the delievery ward and bouncing on an exercise ball. It worked. Now we just needed the baby to drop and do his job so they started me on potosson (sp). Little by little the contractions got stronger and more intense. By 7 that night I was asking for an epidural. Kellen was born at 12:21 am Sunday morning. Thank God for Kirk! I couldn't have done it without him. I absolutely have the greatest husband. He was the huges support. I had the greatest nurse. At 11:30 I started pushing. Kellen came flying out at 12:21 before the dr even got there. My nurse was amazing. Kellen is just the greatest little guy and Addie just adores him.

Park
Addie loves playing at the park. It has to be her favorite place to go. She is all smiles when we are there and it is not easy to get her to leave. Today we went to the park before the rain moved in. Take a look at some of the pictures. She is so proud of herself. She is able to do a lot more this year than last. It is pretty fun to watch. We can't believe how big she is getting.

The Water Fight
What a fabulous weekend we had. The weather couldn't have been any better. As you all know Addie LOVES playing outdoors. She would be out from sun up to sun down if she could. Well her and Kirk had their very first water fight. It was pretty fun to watch. Lola got into the action a bit too. I took a video of it for you to check it out and then there is a picture of the two after the fight. Take a look. Addie sure loves her daddy and what a good daddy he is.
