Kirk had a work trip in Duluth, so the kids and I decided to tag along. He was able to get a hotel down in CanalPark, which was really nice. So while Kirk worked the kids and I played and then we spent the evenings together. We got up there on Wednesday morning and it was raining, so just bummed around town. Later that afternoon it cleared up and we went and threw rocks in the lake and then walked down to watch a boat come in. Addie was in ahh of the size and of how the lift bridge went up. She of course didn't like when the boat honked its horn. Then when Kirk got back we went to dinner and came back to swim. Thursday we spent the morning at the big park by the bay and shopped at stores in Canal Park. After nap we headed to the zoo. So fun. Once Kirk got home it was back to the pool and then to dinner. Both kids had a break down at dinner, so we were out of there fast and back to the room to get ready for bed. The kids and I headed home early Friday morning . It really was a great trip for us even though it was short and Kirk had to do some work. Take a look at some of the pictures.

Big Girl Playdate
Addie loves going to daycare, mostly because of the good friends she has there. With me being out til October we wanted to make sure she still got to see her friends, so we have set up some playdates. This is Peyton. Peyton is about a month younger than Addie and has been with Addie in each class. They usually transition to the next room together. I have gotten to know her mom from this as well. In fact Addie gives Peyton's mom a hug everyday at daycare. Anyways, Addie had her first big girl playdate with Peyton, meaning mom was not there. I didn't know how it would go because usually I stay at the playdates and hang with the momas, but once we got to Peyton's house Addie told me to go and actually opened the door for me. Too funny. She had a blast! We decided to have Peyton over to our house and you can see from the pictures they had a lot of fun. She has been talking about it ever sense. What good buds they are. I can't believe how big she is getting.

Kellen is 2 Months
I can't believe my little guy is 2 months today. Where does the time go? He is the most incredible little person. He is growing fast and becoming quite the little chunk.I love it. It is hard to believe that we had to go in for weekly weight checks and wake him to eat. He is so much more alert now and begining to smile real smiles. I can actually say I enjoy getting up with him at night. It is our little quality time with no distractions. I am just soaking it all up because it goes oh so fast.

Saying Good-bye
Well as you know I am not good at good-byes, especially when it comes to my parents. They have spent the summer with us on and off, traveling between our place and the cabin. They came to our rescue when the news came that Kellen was coming early. They rearranged things are their end to help us out. I can not thank them enough. Then they spent time with us helping out and just being around. I loved it and so did Addie. She is still asking when are Boppa and Nanna coming back. Well the other day we had to say good-bye. They were on their way to carry out their dream living in Colorado. I am so happy and excited for them, but will really miss them. Luckily we are only a quick plane ride away. As you can see in the pictures the kids weren't exactly cooperating. Addie wouldn't open her eyes and Kellen was ready to eat. Thank goodness for digital cameras. I erased a lot and these were the best I could get. Good luck mom and dad. Thank you for everything.

Kellen's First Playdate
Yesterday we got together with one of my friends from work. Her little girl, Aubrey is 4 months ol. We met at the Maple Grove Maze, which is this huge indoor climbing park. Addie got to play and we let the little ones get to know each other while Christina and I got to catch up. It was a great way to beat the unbearable heat.
Bath Time with the Little Monster and Mini Duck
Addie loves taking baths with her little brother. It actually makes bath time go much better. Addie sees how well Kellen does getting his hair washed and she wants to do the same. As for the bath towels, Kellen got that towel from one of my students and Addie wanted one. We went out and the monster was the one she wanted. It is so cute on her. She likes to go around and scare us after the bath.

Amazing Big Sister and her Loyal Best Friend
I was cleaning upstairs today just peeking in on Kellen and what did I find but his big sister sitting on the floor with him reading him books. You can't tell, but under all the blankets are her baby dolls that she is also reading too. Sitting next to her is Lola, who Addie absolutely adores and for some reason Lola still seems to love her. Addie is quite rough with Lola and has had many time outs because of this, but Lola follows her everywhere. What a team they make.
Lake Rebecca
We went to Lake Rebecca the other day to play and have a picnic. Addie loved it and was so happy because "kids" came to play with her. They have a huge play area as you can see as well as a little cabin the kids can go in. I need to plan these little outings everyday because my little girl has more energy then I know what to do with. She is definitely my child.....always going.
